There is a new technology that helps in the fight against wildfires. ALERTCalifornia is a wireless network at the University of California San Diego that uses 1,000 cameras to monitor wildfire activities in California. This system could be used here in Canada. It can recognize early ignition and alert services of potential wildfires. Dr. Neil Driscoll, professor of geology and geophysics at the University of California and Director of ALERTCalifornia, joins Gormley to discuss the benefits of this system.
