Jessica Sheldon, an assistant professor in biochemistry, microbiology and immunology at the U of S joins Gormley to discuss recent research on Acinetobacter baumannii, a pathogen that is found in hospitals worldwide. When this type of antibiotic-resistant bacteria infects a host, the host responds by starving the bug of metal. Sheldon shares the key findings in this research.
