A research team based in Winnipeg is using the Canadian Light Source (CLS) at the University of Saskatchewan to find new, cutting-edge ways to battle cancer. Using the beamlines at the CLS research believe they can target netrin-1 which is considered the key player for the migration of cancer cells and attack it before it spreads. Dr. Jorg Stetefeld professor of biochemistry and Tier-1 Canada Research Chair in Structural Biology and Biophysics at the University of Manitoba joins Gormley to explain how this is the next step in beating cancer.
