Saskatoon’s green cart program rolled out in the early months of 2023 and officially began in May. However, the plan to build a facility to process that compost waste has never been built, since the Rural Municipality of Corman Park decided to vote against having Green Prairie Environmental build on its existing landfill site in the area. The company has remained largely silent about the matter, until recently when the City of Saskatoon announced GPE was in default of their contract.
