Honoring one's teachers by delving deeply into their foundations of thought is an important road of respect and student dedication to the teaching. Unfortunately, most people or students rarely self-motivate their respect in this way, choosing instead to memorize or simp[ly accept opinions and lessons on face value to then avoid the effort and responsibility of understanding the material for themselves or with their own insights. Contrary to respect, this is how "traditions" or false claims to "knowledge" are propagated through time. Real appreciation for teachings is the effort to master the master. Simply repeating something does not imbue one with anything but ego, and ultimately is a disrespect of anything offered.
