hey, fam tonight Michael Anson brings us a word about humility and its importance.
As we dive into it The Holy Spirit leads Michael to do an exercise with us, which you will hear all about as you listen in.
The world's wisdom tells us that if we get and achieve all we want to value ourselves more, and that you are the most important, what you want matters more. But that is usually without/lacking humility and out of selfish ambition and bitter heart. James 3: 13-18 talks about that.
But as Christians, we are called by a different standard, Philippians 2:3 tells us "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility consider one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others."
Consider how Jesus, though he was fully God but also fully man, He didn't consider equality with God something to be grasped, but he emptied Himself for us, coming as a servant. That my friends is what gospel-centred humility is all about, and that is the only way to true success, love and serve as Jesus did.
