The primary work of Christians is to pray.  Most believers know they are supposed to pray, but very few truly understand what prayer can do. 

It's true that we are commanded to pray, but prayer is also a great privilege.  It's a means to talk to he Creator of the universe. 

Prayer highlights our helplessness and inabilities, and it pleases God that we depend on Him. 

God has determined that we are the most effective when we are on our knees, while pleading our needs and desires to Him.
