Governor Spencer Cox declares a state of emergency, banning fireworks statewide through July 5 as Utah faces unprecedented wildfire conditions — 353 fires, 141,000 acres burned, and 94% of the state in severe or extreme drought. The order allows cities to designate limited safe areas for fireworks if local fire officials approve.
