Gov't Offers Job Opportunities, Training for Young Universal Credit Recipients

Young people on Universal Credit could face benefit cuts if they decline training or job offers under a new government plan. The initiative, backed by an £820m funding package, aims to provide training and workplace opportunities in sectors like health, social care, hospitality, and construction. Nine hundred thousand young people will receive special support sessions, including four additional weeks of intensive assistance. Six areas across the UK will target fifty-five thousand young people for a government-backed guaranteed job scheme, set to roll out in the spring of 2026.
