The Montreal arts and entertainment podcast that asks Amy Blackmore: What was the worst injury you’ve ever had? That question asked by Shosho Abotouk back in episode 316.
It’s that time of year again! The Montreal Fringe Festival is back! As we so often are, Sarah and I were joined by Amy Blackmore aka the “Queen of Fringe to talk about this year’s edition of the Fringe Festival. We also reminiscence a little about the fact that this will be the last year where the Fringe calls Mainline Theatre it’s home.
The current incarnation of Mainline will be shutting it’s doors at the end of the festival and maybe we get a little emotional about it ok? Don’t judge us. Amy Blackmore tells us some of her favorite stories about the space over the last 20 years and they’re really amazing. So much of English theatre in Montreal seems to orbit around the Mainline Theatre, it’s a little crazy to think what life will be like without it around (but don’t worry – it will be back and better than ever sooner than you think).
Anyways, there are a few fringe shows already underway with the main programming starting next week – head to montrealfringe.ca to check out the calendar and Go Fringe Yourself!
As always, a big thank you to the providers of our theme song: Leighland Beckman and Aural Turpitude!
Keith does all sorts of things here on 9to5.cc, he works with the other founders on 9to5 (illustrated), co-hosts our two podcasts: The 9to5 Entertainment System and Go Plug Yourself and sometimes blogs here as The Perspicacious Geek.
Sarah is somehow still @femalewalter on Instagram. Follow her for pictures of our dogs and sometimes she remembers to post about all the arts and entertainment we take in all year long.
