Great Story

A well written story without being subjected to filthy language. I wish more authors would tell the story without the use of bad language. Always grateful to find a good author who writes like the great storytellers in the past!

Wonderful christian book

i enjoyed it very much...couldn't recommend it more...no illicit sex....just a clean read

..starts sad..but the ends happy. ..i like happy endings!!!

Cozy escapism, great narration

This is a charming tale from what feels like a much simpler, more innocent era; the story is predictable but delightful to follow. The narrator reads with obvious affection for all the characters; by the end of the book I felt like they had all become old friends. The story is humorous and loving and has a satisfying redemption theme. The references to the Bible are not heavy-handed; the characters turn to God frequently for guidance, but I think you could thoroughly enjoy the story whether or not you are a Christian. If you are, you will no doubt find lots to relate to here. I appreciated the escape into frontier times; a wonderful break from our current political climate. A nice story with memorable characters.

I enjoyed this story. Pretty much guessed the ending, but that's ok. So many stories have similar ideas, but this one was different! A nice change.

I would have enjoyed it more if the older men didn't sound like Granny from the Beverly Hillbilllies, the other men sounded like women, and the main male character didn't sound like an 11 year old boy. it was very hard to picture him as a rough, grown man.
