Grace is Greater - Week 2

Listen Later

Grace is far more than forgiveness. Grace is for TRANSFORMATION

Hebrews says “See to it that no misses the grace of God.”

1>  Saved by Grace

Ephesians 2:4-9 NLT --- But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, 5that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) …7So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus. 8God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done…

Romans ‪5:17 --- For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

  • You Do Not Grow in Grace by Trying to Doing Good

Galatians 3:2 MB --- Let me put this question to you: How did your new life begin? Was it by working your heads off to please God? Or was it by responding to God’s Message to you?

  • You Do Not Grow in Grace by Keeping All the Rules

Hebrews 13:9 GN --- It is good to receive inner strength from God’s grace, and not by obeying rules…

  • You Do Not Grow in Grace by Feeling Bad Enough

Romans ‪8:34 NLT --- Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us…

2> Grow In Grace

2 Peter 1:2 --- Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord…

Vs. 3-4 CEV --- We have everything we need to live a life that pleases God. It was all given to us by God’s own power, when we learned that he had invited us to share in his wonderful goodness. 4God made great and marvelous promises, so that his nature would become part of us. Then we could escape our evil desires and the corrupt influences of this world.

1 Corinthians ‪15:10 --- 10But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

How do Growth and Grace fit together?

Ephesians 4:22-24 - "You were taught with regard to your former way of life to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires, to be made new in the attitude of your minds and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."

√  YOU PUT OFF THE OLD.

√  I PUT ON THE NEW.

√  BE RENEWED IN YOUR MIND.
