Do you enjoy waiting?
Most of us hate having to wait! Yet as followers of Christ, we live in a season of waiting—waiting for our blessed hope, the return of Jesus. But this waiting is not idle; it is purposeful. In this sermon, Pastor Jamison unpacks Paul’s words in Titus 3:1-7, challenging us to consider how the world sees us while we wait. Do our lives reflect the grace that has transformed us?
Through Paul’s instructions to the church in Crete, we see that waiting for Christ means being ready for good works. We are called to submit obediently, serve zealously, speak gently, and show humility—living as a testimony of God’s redemptive power. Yet, we must never forget where we came from. Paul reminds us of our past, not to shame us, but to magnify the mercy of God who saved us—not by our righteousness, but by His grace.
This sermon calls us to live distinct lives that reflect Jesus to a watching world. While we wait, we must make the gospel visible through our transformed lives. Are you ready for good works? The world is watching.
