Grace & Truth
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ ”
And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
John 1: 14-17
- John:1 we see that there is a both grace and truth.
Grace:
Romans 5:1-2 (KJV)
1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
- Jesus came in grace and truth and although we have his grace by believing we also need to have his truth. We can’t just do anything we want and depend on grace only.
We have grace but it’s the truth that sets us free.
Truth:
John 8:31-32 (KJV)
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
- We are transformed by Gods word, we do not remain the same. We are new creatures. This is where we need to have a balance between grace and truth.
