We love to talk about God’s grace—until your teen messes up royally.

When your teen offends you, lies to you, or disrespects you, giving her grace feels like the last thing you want to do. But when you find yourself feeling revenge, it’s a red flag and you need to take a deep breath, and put things back in perspective.

God showed us the most incredible act of grace—sending His Son Jesus to die for our sins—even while we were yet sinners. In fact, we couldn’t have been any less deserving of God’s grace. But He loved us enough to grant it.

So the next time your teen blows it big time, even if she doesn’t deserve or even want forgiveness, that may be exactly the right time to grant mercy.
