Words have power. They can encourage, heal, and build relationships—or they can wound, tear down, and leave lasting damage. When we hear the Sixth Commandment, “You shall not murder,” most of us assume it's a commandment we've never broken. But Jesus reveals that God's concern goes far beyond our physical actions. It reaches into our hearts, our attitudes, and the words we speak.

In John 10:22–42, Jesus makes one of the most extraordinary promises in all of Scripture: “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.” But what does that promise mean for those who struggle with doubt, wrestle with sin, or experience seasons when their faith feels weak?

In John 10:11–21, Jesus makes one of His most comforting and powerful declarations: “I am the Good Shepherd.” He does not merely know about His sheep—He knows them personally, completely, and intimately. He knows every weakness, failure, fear, and wandering place, and still calls them His own.

In John 10:1–10, Jesus reveals Himself as the true Shepherd who knows His sheep, calls them by name, and leads them into life. But to understand the weight of His words, we must remember what just happened in John 9. The religious leaders had rejected and cast out a man whom Jesus healed. They cast him out. Jesus went looking for him.

In John 9:35–41, the story of the man born blind reaches its climax. He has received physical sight, endured interrogation, stood against pressure, and ultimately been cast out by the religious leaders. But the moment they reject him, Jesus goes looking for him. They cast him out. Jesus found him.

In this special message, guest speaker Mike Esposito asks a question many people have wrestled with: What about those who have never heard the Gospel? If God truly loves the lost, how is He reaching people in places where the name of Jesus may seem distant or unknown?

In John 9:13–34, the man who had been blind from birth is brought before the Pharisees and interrogated about what Jesus has done. The evidence could not be clearer: the man who was blind can now see. Yet everyone confronted with that same truth responds differently. Some resist it. Some fear what accepting it might cost. And one man simply keeps following the truth wherever it leads.

In John 9:1–12, Jesus encounters a man who has been blind from birth. While the disciples immediately ask whose sin caused his suffering, Jesus sees something different. They see a theological problem to explain; Jesus sees a person in need of mercy. And instead of giving them the explanation they expect, Jesus shows them what God can do in the middle of something they do not understand.

In John 8, the tension between Jesus and the religious leaders reaches a breaking point. They have questioned His words, rejected His authority, and now begin attacking Him personally. But in the middle of their hostility, Jesus continues to offer an extraordinary promise: “If anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.”

In John 8:21–30, Jesus gives one of the most sobering warnings in the Gospel of John: “Unless you believe that I AM, you will die in your sins.” Yet even these hard words reveal the mercy of Christ. Jesus is not exposing the Pharisees because He hates them—He is warning them because He is still calling them to believe.
