Today’s conversation is with jazz vocalist Grammy-nominated artist Carmen Lundy. It happened on my birthday, a gift I cherish!
Conversation highlights:
- Music opened the world to her, but she began in Miami (hometown). She went to NYC to launch her recording career, not get into nightclub singing, which is demanding. But she worked hard gigging while going to school! Take a listen, and you can understand the magnitude of her talent, hoot spa, love for her musical studies while singing six nights a week!

Carmen spent 8-to-10-hour days, four ½ months to edit VHS film that celebrates the music & conversations of her mother and aunts, singers in a gospel group for over 40 years! To revisit that “time tunnel” was a gift, and Nothing But The Blood was born!
