have collectively over 200 years of experience creating music here in DC and far across the

world (yes, you heard me right, between all group members, they’ve spanned decades of

material and projects). They’ll also tell us about their journey to becoming beloved icons across

We’ll be reviewing the most recent release from Chicago veteran hip hop lyricist, Vic Spencer,

entitled Legend Laws Of Power. And the classic for this episode, which happens to be one of my

favorites, is Jazzmatazz Vol. 1 by the late great GURU (Gifted Universal Rhymes Unlimited) who

There’s a great conversation between 9 th Wonder and Bob James where they talk about how many of his hits have been sampled by hip hop artists and it’s a great vehicle to talk about samples, how artists can gain new revenue streams over time, and what this means for hip hop producers. Then we’ll review the latest from Queens mc Pharoahe Monch called “A Magnificent Day for an Exorcism.” This one rocks … literally. It’s not going to satisfy every hip hop fan’s taste, but there’s a lot to discuss here. Finally, for our classic album review, I suggested the 1992 classic album “The Chronic” by the inimitable Dr. Dre.
