Finance Minister Grant Robertson is defending the $80,000 it will take for the Air Force 757 to take Jacinda Ardern to Nauru and back tomorrow.
The aircraft has already been up to the Pacific Islands Forum, delivering Foreign Minister Winston Peters and his entourage.
Robertson told Mike Hosking the money would have otherwise been spent on a training flight, and it is important the Prime Minister is there.
" There is no extra money being spent doing this, and we should be proud of the fact she is representing us."
