I had a dream last night that I was teaching a class to about 10 individuals. These all were people who I have personal experience with. They are all part of my trusted network of support. The subject I was teaching was “You Are Enough”
This morning during our silent meditation, that dream came back to me and I had the distinct impression that if there was one principle we were taught in our pre-earth experience to do our best to remember, it was to know that we are enough, we are loved, we are worthy.
How do I know this? I know because “I am not enough” is the root of all limiting beliefs. If the author of all darkness and evil can get us to believe that, he has separated us from our network of support. It is the one hope that ties us to God and our first family.
We have a divine network of support in our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, our ancestors and even spirits who are awaiting their time to be born on earth. And this one belief: “I am enough” depends on our being able to confidently connect with that network.
On earth, we have a network of support in family and friends. Even strangers can be part of our support network as illustrated by Coleen, on our call today as she helped a little girl in the pool learn how to float on her back in the water.
Our spouses, communicating compassionately are a key component in our network of support. Family and friends can lift us when we feel down. Everyone needs someone to go to at those times.
The Lord is always there for us. But He knows that a physical person to offer a hug or a kind word can confirm our tentative and tender new beliefs that we are loved and worth another person’s time. That’s why sometimes, He does his work through angels in earthy form.
It can even be valuable when someone shares something negative about us! We all have blind spots and if we are willing to be open when someone exposes them, those people sharing negative feedback can also be part of our trusted network of support.
