Gratitude for Ease of Movement

At first glance, ease of movement meant to me that I was grateful for a healthy spine and how easily my brain tells my body to move. But on further reflection, I saw that just as important to me is my ability to easily shift from one thought to another, the ability to change in a moment.

I can choose to resist change all my life and experience struggle and pain by choosing not to move. I can choose to partially change, pretending to do and be, but with my heart still tied to my old beliefs. Or I can choose to really throw my heart in with no other option but success.

The option to give my whole heart is the only true freedom and ease of movement.

Our bodies are meant to move in all directions. Every part of our body is necessary, there is nothing superfluous. If there is a part of our body that isn’t moving easily, it serves to be open to how we can create more range of motion in that area. Short of a real physical injury that prevents it, there is always a way to stretch and improve.

There are techniques that can be used even in childbirth that allows the body to relax through pain and discomfort when we trust the process and that our bodies were made to do amazing things.

Yoga is a great way to assign a different definition to what we typically call pain, unwind the body, let go, practice mind-body-spirit connection to invite more ease of movement and trust in what our bodies are capable of.

There is a definite relation between having a flexible mind and a flexible body. Begin with one and the other tends to follow.

New Ideas to Consider

  • I create big waves with my easy movement
  • I breathe and move freely
  • I gracefully release old patterns and easily build new ones that serve
  • I am finished with this path and choosing a new path
  • There is more to discover and I easily move to my new path of discovery
