I had no idea that today’s subject of gratitude would take the turn it did. Apparently there are many of us who desire effective communication with our children and our own effective communication with Him through divine tutoring. I hope this call today gives you what you need for those most critical connections of self and family.

This morning I wrote a letter to my daughter and was going to slip it under her door. However, when it was finished, I didn’t feel ‘right’ in my heart, so I waited.

I set the letter aside, and got on my knees.

New understanding washed over me as I stepped aside and invited God to show me the greatness within my daughter. I tore up the letter, and wrote a letter to myself instead, explaining the value and purpose that my daughter has in God’s larger purpose. My heart felt right.

This is my gift, to see people’s hearts and help them to live up to the best they can be. I am the perfect mother for my daughter. I believe we all are placed in the perfect circumstances for us to most likely get everything we need to eventually succeed. That may be difficult to see in the early stages, but just give God a chance to work his miracles.

One key to effective communication is listening – before we ask, listening to know what to ask for – and after we ask, listening to hear the answer.

Another key is sacrifice – sacrificing our own will for the will of a loving Father who knows each of us better than we could possibly know ourselves, and who knows what is needed to prepare for the future.

I Give Myself Permission to Listen

• I am open and listen from a space of nothingness
• I feel the truth within my heart
• I am endowed with power from on high
• My purpose supports and is in alignment with the Lord’s purpose
• I am preparing the way by following divine guidance
• It is vital to His purpose that I perform my purpose
• I am on the Lord’s errand
• I am continuously re-kindling my spiritual vitality
