Gratitude for Fall Tapestry

Listen Later

My backyard is a breathtaking example of God’s artistic handiwork, with individual colors and textures coming together to form a brilliant tapestry.

One Thread in a Beautiful Tapestry of Fall Colors and Textures (Pyracantha branches I cut yesterday from my backyard)

Add to the visual affect of an array of colors and textures, the smell of dirt, the sounds of crunching leaves, and the feeling of coolness in the fall air with a bright sun warming the neck and shoulders, and fall just can’t be beat for tantalizing the senses!

Each thread in a tapestry adds to the beautiful work of art under the master artist’s touch. Everything works together, each individual part extremely important, yet not as inspiring as the whole together.

Fall is a celebration, a riot of color that heralds the end of one season and the beginning of the next.

In communities and in teams, as in nature, it takes every person’s individual genius together with others, to create the whole.

At the end of one season, there is a melancholy release as we turn our attention to the next season. Impermanence is such a blessing. If it were autumn all the time, we would miss the splendor of the moment.

Fall is a time to end the frantic activity of summer and prepare for going within to prepare for new growth in the spring. As in nature, there is necessity for us to give time to dreaming of the possibilities of the next period of growth. During this time, we are still growing. The growth is just not visible to the outside. What looks like stagnant slumber, is really systematic preparation for spring.

Today, I Give Myself Permission to Dream Without Judgment

  • I see what is happening now as a preparation for what is to come
  • I am grateful for the respite and rejuvenation that a period planning and preparation provides
  • I am getting clear on my part and I am seeking the additional pieces that add color, texture and interest to my tapestry
  • I am celebrating the successes of the past and preparing for what is to come
  • I am grateful for what has been created and looking forward with eager anticipation to what is next
  • I see all things as possible
