Today, I was a little selfish in choosing our subject, but not really. I needed to find gratitude in a personal experience last night and this morning, but I knew this would benefit everyone on the call. I made a choice last night and this morning I received a gentle reprimand from God.
We all know how it feels when someone brings up something from the past where we made a mistake. There is a difference between digging up old stuff and receiving a loving reminder. A gentle reprimand is more like a loving reminder. Repentance and Forgiveness don’t have to be heavy.
A gentle reprimand could also come in the form of standing up for ourselves. If someone is putting shame or blame on us, we can lovingly remind them that this doesn’t belong to us.
How criticism is delivered can mean the difference between it being received or rejected. I can share in a charitable way, with pleasant tones and with Christ-like love. This definitely takes awareness, consciousness and allowance for them to receive it however they choose.
Today’s message is be gentle with yourself, be gentle with others and be gentle with receiving God’s correction.
