Gratitude for Giving Freely
We receive back the same energy with which we give. If I give something useful in an attitude of love, I will receive back in the same way. If I give grudgingly, I will receive grudgingly. Energy attracts the same type of energy.
I recently cleaned a spot in my storage room and then two days later, I gratefully received a gift from someone else that filled the space the other items had taken up. The price of the gift I received far exceeded the price of the gift I had given.
The exchange, the type of items received was different and yet in some ways exactly the same. But all of us got exactly what we needed!
When we freely give, we take no thought to ourselves or what will come in return. We give with no conditions attached (the definition of unconditional). Sometimes we feel desperate to have the person receive our gift in a certain way. Advice is often given with the condition that the person use it. We can share our passion for the advice and our love for the person, but a gift given freely requires that we release it once we choose to give it.
We are just the deliverer. All gifts are from God anyway. When we give one of those gifts away, we are just passing it on. So it’s not our responsibility to make sure the person uses it a certain way. that is between them and God.
