When new born babies are premature they are sometimes placed in an incubator. The intention is to protect from any outside germs. This physical isolation is a good thing for these new babies.
However, we also know from back in the 60’s when these babies were in complete isolation, no one allowed to touch the baby, that was not a good thing. Complete isolation proved to be fatal. Finding the right balance in this situation is important.
We can also think about isolation in regards to the corona virus. When people study the germs causing the virus, they isolate the pathogen in a petrie dish and allow it to grow with no interruptions. This same thought can be related to limiting beliefs. If we have a negative belief and don’t allow anything in there to fight it off, it grows.
Isolation doesn’t have to mean that we’re necessarily alone. We can connect with others through technology. As we have opportunities for alone time, it allows us to deepen our connection with God.
Gratitude can be found for times of isolation! These experiences can give opportunity for personal reflection and growth. We can find peace in isolation.
