Daily Gratitude Call

Gratitude for Service

Listen Later

I am so grateful for others seeing the value of the service I provide.

I don’t do it for the words of affirmation from others, but the texts and comments I receive are confirmation that I am on the right path.

In the beginning of this call, I seemed possessed with the necessity of sharing the services I offer freely. it may sound like an advertisement, but it was a passionate plea to receive the tools that are freely available to you.

I do offer courses for a price. But the free offerings give you all the basics that you need to live a life of purpose.

Actually all my offerings come with a price. For some, the price is your time, for others the price is your money. For all, the price is giving your heart to the work and relentless daily integrity to yourself, God and those you serve.

Jesus was the greatest servant of all and He said:

“…he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.” -Luke 22:26-27

I ask all the time, “does this serve me?” I ask it about the clutter in my home, the limiting beliefs I uncover, the foods I take into my body.

So in a way, my words, my faults, my weaknesses are serving me, albeit in a way that is not positive, until I choose to change them.

My car serves me in getting me where I need to go, my clothes serve me in keeping me warm, my phone serves me as I am serving you on The Daily Gratitude Call. I am serving and being served at all times. I am a part of a great cycle of service!

In order to serve you, I have to first see you. And even before seeing you, I have to see me. I have to see how I best serve. I have to know myself before I can know how best to serve you.

Mary mentioned on the call that she began her road to coming out of her shell by making eye contact. It was very difficult because she had not wanted to be seen before she made the decision to connect. And even more difficult was finding someone who was willing to make eye contact back!

Eye contact led to a smile…a service that benefits both the giver and the receiver.

Service softens hearts. It softens the heart of the servant and the heart of the served. (Thanks Rachael for those thoughts shared on the call)

Rachael also shared how when she is served by another, it shows her how God is active in her life. She feels his love reflected through the actions of the servant.

We cannot help being within the cycle of abundance when we notice every day, the ways we serve and are served.

Neither is greater than the other. If you are living you are serving. If you are living you are being served. Service is not an act, it is simply being.
