Over the weekend my inspiration and focus was really on the spirit, most of my thoughts were in regards to strengthening my spirit. Today, I feel much gratitude for the physical. I am realizing there is so much I can do. Staying home is something I can do for my physical health right now, not going out to eat is another thing I am doing to help.
Another observation I’ve had is that my fridge, freezer, and cupboards are never empty right now. Every time I open my fridge, I feel like; Wow! I thought we ate yesterday.
There have been a couple times in my life I have felt this same thing. Years ago when we were having some financial struggles, I remember sitting down to dinner and we were eating left overs. I looked around the table and everyone’s plates were heaping. It was as if I had cooked a banquet. I am so grateful for an abundance of food, even though I haven’t been to the store in a couple weeks. I know these are physical blessings that God gives freely if we are willing to receive them.
Whatever our specific set of circumstances are, we can find gratitude for the physical space we live in, our bodies, etc. Meditation is also a powerful tool we can use to help us physically through whatever we may be experiencing.
