Gratitude for Warming Up
This morning, my daughter came out of her bedroom around 6 am, just to sit on the heater. She had a blanket wrapped around her. After she got warm, she announced “I’m going back to bed!”
A warm-up usually gets us ready for something.
When we are getting ready to exercise, it increases flexibility. On our Gratitude Call before I hit ‘record’ we warm up with a couple rounds of gratitude. A warm up helps get us into a peak state.
It’s easier to accept a new idea if we can warm up to it first. Tapping into brilliant minds and allowing new perspective can be a warm-up to changing a long held tradition or belief system.
Warming up is like taking baby steps. It helps us prepare for what is to come. First we walk, holding onto stable objects, people, ideas. Then we walk on our own, and finally we are able to run, jump, even fly through life with ease!
Loosening up, relaxing, being more flexible are desired by-products of a warm-up. In this way, even Faith can be a warm-up. Faith allows us to relax into our experiences, rather than feeling the tenseness and stress of fear of what we can’t control.
Breathing, letting go of our own mind-chatter, and listening all are perfect activities to get us warmed up to being in the peak state to ask our intuition to tell us what’s next.
In this relaxed state of faith, we can know the easiest, most perfect way to proceed.
