At 32 years old, Melville published a book that would be ignored and neglected, until 20 years after his death. Today Moby Dick is justly celebrated because of the powerful battle between Captain Ahab and the mysterious, unconquerable Whale. 

Though Ahab devotes himself to his hatred of the Great Whale, he cannot overcome Moby Dick.
