Great Molasses Flood: When Boston Drowned In Syrup

Harold Dorley, working at a Boston railway company's freight terminal, witnessed the unimaginable- the day molasses turned deadly.

The catastrophic collapse of a molasses tank on January 15, 1919 unleashed a 40-foot wave of molasses that caused widespread devastation. The flood resulted in dozens of deaths and hundreds of injuries.
