Tune into GREEN BUBBLE TEA this Wednesday [02/09] from 11am to 1pm EST on 99.3 FM in the #BTV area and online worldwide at https://993wbtv.org/
It is currently #LunarNewYear, celebrated by Chinese people all over the world, as well as non-Chinese East Asians and South East Asians. It is based on the traditional Chinese lunar solar calendar, which is based on the movements of the Sun, Moon, Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury, Venus, Mars (the seven luminaries). Lunar New Year starts after the first new moon of the Lunar year and ends after the first full moon. This marks the end of Winter and the beginning of Spring. Each year is represented by one of 12 Chinese zodiac animals, which is done in a preceding cycle. 2022 is The Year Of The Tiger.
February is #BlackHistoryMonth, and the 2nd hour of this week's show spotlights just a faction of great Black artists, albums, and songs. Nina Simone, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jackson, Prince, Whitney Houston, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang Clan, etc.
