Adam Smith - often called 'The Father of Capitalism' - lived in Scotland from 1723 to 1790, and spent his last years at Panmure House, on Edinburgh's Royal Mile.
Today at Panmure House, a Heriot-Watt University team is working to repurpose it as a home for debates and dialogues, on everything from climate change and the energy transition, to the roles of the state and the financial services sector.
Prof Adam Dixon is leading those efforts, as part of his role as the university's Adam Smith Chair in Sustainable Capitalism.
