Green Pastures and Still Waters
Psalm 23:2 – “He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.”
David paints a picture of safety. Sheep only lie down when they feel secure—when the shepherd is watching. And still waters are not turbulent or rushing—they’re calm and refreshing. God knows that in turmoil, our souls need rest, and He provides it.
Sometimes He has to “make us” lie down. We resist rest because we’re busy worrying or trying to fix things on our own. But God, in His love, gently brings us back to green pastures. His peace is not found in avoiding trouble but in learning to trust Him enough to rest.
Today, carve out a moment to pause in His presence. Lay your burdens down, breathe deeply, and let His Spirit restore calm.
