Sheep can't sleep unless the conditions around them are perfect. Otherwise, they are restless, fearful, and discontent. It is the Shepherd's job to find a place for them to rest and the sheep's job to keep their eye on the Shepherd as he leads them. We too have to keep our eyes on the Lord in order to have rest in seasons where it seems like it's impossible to have peace and be still.
