Monica Simpson was born in Kwang Ju, Korea, and was adopted as a baby. She grew up in Houston, Texas. After graduating from Texas A&M University with her master’s in urban planning, Monica worked for the city of Galveston until moving to Florida. She started the next phase of her career in October 2001 at the town of Longboat Key.
Monica ventured out on her own in 2012 as a consultant and now enjoys working with area building contractors, property owners and developers. For fun, she uses her bachelor’s degree in journalism writing the weekly sports article for the Anna Maria Island Sun. She also loves volunteering, playing co-ed sports and participating Anna Maria’s annual murder mystery fundraiser for the community center. Her self-proclaimed biggest achievement is raising her two boys as a single mom and watching them grow into respectable young men.
Monica is also a certified Spin Instructor and is currently studying to become a personal trainer allowing her to further guide others to be the best version of themselves possible.
However one of the BIGGEST growing passions is inspiring others with emotional growth through her personal experiences which she has just recently gotten the courage to share and discuss. Her dream is to reach the hearts and minds of young people, as well as others in need through her life’s journey and show the life changing effects of positivity and energy.
