Life has a way of throwing challenges at us. And sometimes those challenges leave us feeling lost, broken or overwhelmed. Whether it's trauma from the past or just the weight of everything we’re carrying, there are moments when we feel like we should handle it all alone. Society often teaches us that independence equals strength, but the truth is, the hardest battles are not meant to be fought in silence. Many of us struggle with this, believing we have to fix ourselves, hiding the pain behind a brave face. But healing doesn’t happen in isolation. It’s in those vulnerable moments, when we share our burdens with others, that true transformation begins.

This journey is about self-compassion, realising that you are worthy of help. It's about understanding that leaning on others isn’t a sign of weakness, but of incredible strength. When life gets tough, it's okay to not have all the answers, and it's more than okay to ask for a hand to hold along the way. And in embracing our own story, no matter how difficult the past may have been, we can rewrite our future with resilience, grace, and the unshakable belief that brighter days are always within reach.

There comes a time in life when we realise that holding on to pain only deepens the scars we carry. The hurt we’ve endured, whether through betrayal, neglect, or misunderstanding, can weigh heavily on our hearts, tethering us to the past. But in the gentle act of letting go, we begin to free ourselves from the chains that bind us.

When we choose to forgive those who have hurt us, not as an acceptance of their actions but as a release from the burden, we discover an unexpected gift — healing. As the bitterness dissolves, we feel lighter, as though the soul breathes again, untangling from the web of resentment. In that moment, healing blossoms within us, like a garden after the rain, nourished by the waters of understanding and grace. We step forward, no longer shackled to the pain of the past, but open, whole, and at peace with ourselves and the world around us.

Choosing a different path in life, one that breaks away from the norm, can often feel lonely. The pressure to conform is constant, with those around you eager to pull you back to the familiar and the comfortable. So to walk the path that is truly your own, you must first connect with who you are at the deepest level — your emotions, your desires, and what truly drives you. This journey requires stepping away from what society says you should be, and instead discovering your truth for yourself. In the end, life is about making deliberate choices, setting your own pace, and defining your own purpose with each step forward. This film is a reflection on the courage it takes to follow that unique, authentic path, even when the world encourages you to turn back.

Back in 2021 we shared a story featuring Theo, called "Being Simply Beautiful". It has received almost 2 million views to date, and comments continue to pour in, sharing appreciation for this man and his journey. We've also received many questions about his personal situation and how he sustains his chosen lifestyle.

We recently heard that Theo was building a food garden on a farm near where we live. So we decided to use the opportunity to revisit with him to bring you this follow up film, answering some of the many questions that we have received.

Shame, guilt, rage and resentment aren't part of our natural emotional state. And so when these feelings linger from past hurts, we often use denial to hide the original issues. But just like our physical health, our emotional well-being needs attention. Since emotional wounds aren't visible, we might think they'll go away if we ignore them, but they only grow worse in the dark. These wounds need our care and awareness to heal; otherwise, they just fester.

Healing deep emotional wounds takes courage because it means trusting your own feelings. It involves naming and understanding these emotions honestly. By having the courage to face and deal with shame, guilt, and other baggage, you start the process of healing and open yourself up to a more fulfilling life, ultimately improving your relationships with yourself and others.

The act of paying attention seems rather simple - simply being aware of life happening all around us. And yet most of us are asleep at the wheel. Our habit is to be lost in a trance. Thinking. Planning. Worrying. So how can we find meaning in our lives when we are repeatedly lost in our own thinking?

A beautiful place to start is to pay attention. To live is to observe. To experience the fullness of life is to put oneself into the fullness of life. To embrace the wholeness of this journey is to lift your head, squint your eyes, wipe your heart of bias, and look. And in the looking, we might be profoundly changed.

Let's not miss a thing. Let's embrace it all - the beauty and the heartache — both of which make us feel alive and allow us to know that we're actively participating in life’s unfolding. Let's all strive to be awake for as much of it as we can.

What gives you a sense of awe? You might imagine standing on a wide-open plain with a storm approaching, or holding the tiny finger of a newborn baby. That word, awe - the feeling of being in the presence of something vast that transcends your understanding of the world - is often associated with the extraordinary. But you don’t need remarkable circumstances to encounter awe.

You can find it every day, often in the humblest places. Staring up at a starry sky; looking at a sculpture that makes you shudder; listening to a medley of instruments joining into one complex, spine-tingling melody - those experiences remind us that we’re part of something that will exist long after us.

Luckily, we don’t need to wait until we stumble upon it - we can seek it out. Awe is all around us. With a little intentionality, we can reclaim our sense of wonder in the everyday, ordinary moments of life. Perhaps awe, while an ordinary response to the extraordinary, is also an extraordinary response to the ordinary.

The one unifying and undeniable fact of life is that we will all experience loss - the death of loved ones, the end of relationships, the shattering of dreams. In a society that so often tells us to ‘stay positive’ and ‘move on’, it is easy to view grief as something shameful. But what if, instead of a weakness to be avoided or a burden to be carried, embracing grief is actually a sacred invitation to heal, to grow, and to transform?

When we have the courage to feel our grief, to surrender to its depths, something miraculous happens. We begin to heal. We reconnect with our own soul, with the love and support of those around us. We find meaning in our losses, discovering that our pain is fertile soil for new growth.

So let’s not be afraid of grief. It is a fierce and loving teacher, a guide to our deepest self. Embrace it, learn from it. As the Persian poet Rumi recommends, let it crack our hearts wide open. That’s how the light of love gets in. On the other side lies a life of greater meaning and connection.

A question for you to ask yourself : What do you believe makes you enough?
Go ahead, pause a minute and ask it.

What was your answer? Maybe it’s being a good parent. Maybe it’s the items you’ve checked off your to-do list today. Or the type of car you own. The list could go on and on...

If you answered that question in any other way than ‘I am enough simply because I’m me,’ then you’re certainly not alone. The feeling of not believing you are enough is a rocky place to be. It robs you of peace and presence. And if you continue to believe that you’re not enough, you will never allow yourself to embrace who you really are.

Believing you are enough is a journey. It takes time and action. And the path isn’t a straight one. Once you reach that destination of believing you are enough, it takes work to stay there. The state of ‘enough-ness’ is one you can return to again and again once you truly believe all you are is all you need to be.

No matter the kind, pain is as inevitable as life itself - we all go through it in some way or another. Be it emotional, mental or physical - it's going to happen.

Too often we shy away from admitting our pain to the world - too ashamed to allow ourselves to surrender. It’s OK to be hurt, to be angry and to feel helpless. It is OK to surrender.

When we hear the word 'surrender', we often think of giving up, waving the white flag, and throwing in the towel. We associate it with gracefully bowing out and retreating away from our problems. But that’s not what we’re talking about here.

Surrendering in this sense means acknowledging that the pain is real and allowing those feelings to come to the surface. Allowing time and holding counsel with the pain. When we soften. When our mind softens. When we let go. It is in that state of surrender that we somehow become more powerful. It's a paradox, and one that we can learn to embrace.

In the meantime, remember that you don't need to be in pain to engage in empathy, compassion and gratitude. For we never truly know what those around us are going through.
