The film is about Hispanic immigrants trying to find their niche in American society now that they have acquired the Green Card or permanent residence status. To ensure a better future, the father sends his eldest son to the United States military, leaving his other son, 14-year-old Angel, to fend for himself. He joins a street gang and finds his new love. The biggest challenge they face is survival in this new society.
