Greg Barns SC is a leading criminal barrister, former political advisor, and author. We first examine the appeal against the extradition to the United States of Julian Assange, who Greg first advised more than 10 years ago. Formerly the National Chair of the Australian Republican Movement, we discuss his experience of the failed 1999 referendum and the lessons it holds for the upcoming Voice Referendum. We then discuss the idea of Liberalism and the long rise of right-wing populism.
