While many pre-Colombian sites of human habitation have been identified on the islands that compose Grenada, we do not know that much about them. Thus, much of this islands’ written history begins with introduction of Europeans in the 16th and 17th centuries. This is not to say that the native Caribs do not feature prominently in this story – indeed, their struggle against European domination is symbolic of the resistances that occurred elsewhere in the region. Since then, and the intervening years of political tumult, Grenada has developed into a vibrant society with a nutmeg-driven economy. Tune in to find out more!
