My name is Dayshun Stevens, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a great passion for supporting and empowering others. I am the founder of Griefsources, a place where we explore ways to move through sources of grief. I have extensive experience in grief, loss and trauma as I’ve served people in hospice, palliative care, home health, long-term care and private practice. Over the years, in helping others and in my own personal growth, I’ve learned the significance of the mind-body connection in fostering good overall health. I believe that healing starts from the inside and begins with awareness of internal processes, particularly thoughts. I walk alongside people navigating many sources of grief, including issues like, loss, anxiety, depression, chronic illness and pain, trauma, relationships, and life transitions. My ideal client is motivated to do the work, wants to rewire their brain, heal from trauma and is searching for a better way to feel, behave and view life from a more positive and supportive lens. Working from a holistic and trauma informed perspective, I promote movement, breathing and mindfulness as therapeutic approaches to healing. Our thoughts stimulate feelings and emotions which in turn impact our behavior. We move into the driver’s seat of our lives when we have a better understanding of the direct relationship between thoughts, emotions, feelings, behavior and the functionality of our bodies. I believe that we all have an intrinsic capacity to heal and I'm passionate about helping others bring forth their innate healing abilities to find peace.
