Grieving Dad | Keeping the faith through the fatigue

Listen Later

Hey Friends,

How are you all doing? I know it's been a while since the last episode, but I'm so glad you could join me for today's focus on grief fatigue, recorded around 4.5 months after my dad - and the better half of this podcast - went home to be with the Lord and reunite with my mum.

This episode shines a spotlight on some of the things that tire us out during seasons of deep grief, including but not limited to life admin, situations and sometimes, people who don't seem to 'get it'. It's all a bit exhausting and if I'm honest, I'm still trying to navigate the fatigue myself. But with God's grace, wisdom and strength, I know that I'm being carried by the Holy Spirit and I pray that you also feel His presence as you navigate your own personal season/s of grief.

Here are some super handy resources that I cover in this episode:

'It's okay not to be okay' a sermon by Pastor Larry McCarthy via YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kwg-7HeXNI

Recognising and dealing with grief fatigue, a blog by Everett Christian Counselling: https://everettchristiancounseling.com/recognizing-and-dealing-with-grief-fatigue/

'Even in laughter the heart may ache' a blog by GotQuestions, clarifying the meaning of Proverbs 14:13 https://www.gotquestions.org/even-in-laughter-the-heart-may-ache.html

Bible Study Notes by Dr Thomas Constable. We read through Revelation, Chapter 7 during this episode: https://soniclight.com/tcon/notes/pdf/revelation.pdf
