Grieving Dad | Will I recognise him and will he recognise me in heaven?
Hello friends,
It's now seven weeks since my dear Dad - and better half of this podcast - went home to be with the Lord. In this, our third season, I thought I'd walk you through my season of grief in real time, in the hopes that it will be a blessing to you.
Today’s episode will focus on the types of questions I desperately needed answers to in the hours, days and weeks following Dad’s death. We lay the table with scripture from 2 Corinthians Chapter 5, which has settled my restless spirit and provided peace that surpasses all understanding every single time I’ve returned to this blessed portion of Scripture.
We then commence a new Bible reading, starting with Revelation Chapter 1. Now, I know that we were diligently working through the Book of Psalms and The Acts of the Apostles during our previous seasons, but I know that it was Dad's intention to read through the Book of Revelation and then read through the Book of Daniel last year, so in honour of his memory, I will read through both on his behalf – along with you all, our dear listeners. For the record, Dad managed to read up until Chapter 3 / 4 :)
We’ then wrap up with a daily devotional from Dr Charles F Stanley – it’s an excerpt that Dad had thoughtfully photocopied and given to me about six months ago and I pray it will be as much of a blessing to you all as it is to me.
