Bret Weinstein says "the question of useless eaters is already on the table" in the money being poured into humanoid robots. That phrase has a history: it’s what the Nazis called people who couldn’t work.

Nobody needs a plan for this. Just a price tag. The World Economic Forum projects 92 million jobs displaced and 170 million new jobs created by 2030. Harari calls it "the useless class" and suggests computer games. Bread and circuses. But history says idle men don’t sit quietly: Rome, Weimar Germany, the Rust Belt. So, before 2030: when the robot fixes the crawl space, what’s the plumber for?

Israelis and Palestinians on the street were asked the same questions. Do you want to live with the other side in peace? Could they stay? As equals? Israeli after Israeli says yes, live next to us. On the Palestinian side, the "yes" usually comes with conditions. About two million Arab citizens live in Israel. No Jews live in Gaza. Until more people on the Palestinian street say the Jews can stay, peace isn't being blocked by a map. It's being blocked by an answer.

Before that: Obama says Ilhan Omar's investigation is an "unsubstantiated theory" (how does he know?), Sen. Elissa Slotkin wants a "deterrence message" for young people who'd work for Trump, and France's "mostly peaceful student protests."

I want my robot butler. My wife won't trust the automatic cat feeder. Neither of us gets a vote on whether AGI is coming: some of the people building it predict it's a year or two out. But we do get a vote on who's holding the keys when it gets here. Right now that's a handful of companies, and whoever happens to be in the White House and Congress at the time. This isn't about left or right. Write the rules for the guy you don't trust, because sooner or later, he's the one in charge.
