She did survive but only after temporary blindness, organ failure, and becoming a quadruple amputee. A sporting highlight was winning a Bronze medal in 2002 Salt Lake City Paralympics as a downhill ski racer. He is also a World Champion in Triathalon and made the London 2012 Canadian Paralympic Swimming Team at 50 years old. He has now set his sights on surfing, looking to innovate the sport while chasing waves around the globe. All of this after losing both of his legs above the knee in a terrible workplace accident.
