Itâs our last day on the grounds, catching the final day of ATP qualifying and the first day of the WTA main draw. This was a short trip, but we wanted to highlight how you can attend a big tournament on a budget by coming during qualifying days.
For a low cost, you get to explore the grounds, soak in the atmosphere, and watch high-level tennisâall without the crowds and premium ticket prices of later rounds.
Morning Sessions & a Surprise Reunion đ„
We got to the grounds early to watch some practice sessions and grab b-roll footage for upcoming videos. And then, we had a surprise visit from our friend Blair Henleyâwhich was awesome.
If you donât know Blair, she was the first guest on our Meet the Professionals series, where we highlight the people who work in and around tennis. You can check out that episode below.
The Best Places to Hang Out on the Grounds âïž
One thing Miami does really well? Fan spaces.
There are so many great spots to relax around the grounds, and this year, theyâve added even more. My favorite? The cabana-style pods in front of the big screenâthe perfect place to find shade and still keep up with the matches.
Connecting with the Tennis Media & Creator Community đ€
This trip was short, but I spent a lot of time catching up with fellow tennis media and creators.
It wasnât planned, but it reminded me how great this community is. Weâre all working toward the same goalâgrowing the sport and sharing it with different audiences, no matter their level of tennis knowledge. Itâs been fun being part of that.
Miami Open Deserves More Respect đ
This trip was also a reminder of how great the Miami Open is.
Indian Wells gets all the hypeââTennis Paradise,â the â5th Slam,â etc.âand sometimes Miami gets treated like the lesser sibling. But itâs a really well-run, fan-friendly event. The setup is great, the vibe is fun, and honestly? The best food Iâve had at a tournament this year.
And the ticket prices? Reasonable. It feels like the Peopleâs Slam. Can we make that a thing? đ
Where Are We Off to Next? đ
Weâll be announcing our next tournament stop here soon. Stay tuned!
