In Colossians 1:1–14, Paul addresses a church caught in confusion as false teachers twisted the Gospel with extra rules, rituals, and spiritual hierarchies. He reminds them that the true Gospel is unrivaled: it grounds us in faith, love, and hope, it grows us in knowledge and obedience, and it guarantees our identity in Christ. What was true for the Colossians is just as true for us today—any attempt to add to the Gospel only empties it of its power. Nothing needs to be added. Jesus alone is enough.
