Where does God ultimately want to lead his sheep? David has told us in this psalm that he leads us from green pastures to valley’s and to a lavish table of blessing and victory. God’s intention is to always lead us into the abundant life. This last verse in Psalm 23 paints a beautiful picture of God’s perfect, unconditional love. This entire psalm leads us not to a particular destination, but to God himself. He is our eternal destination, but he can also be our daily destination. Join Janet in this episode as she concludes Psalm 23.

Jesus told us in John 16:33, “In this world you will have trouble,” and Paul told new converts in Acts 14:22, “We must go through hardships to enter the kingdom of God.” Difficult times are part of this fallen world, but we have a Good Shepherd who is willing to walk through our deepest valleys, regardless of why we are in them. During these times in the valley, the sheep want their shepherd with them, not out front leading them, but walking beside them, protecting them. In today's episode, Janet will talk about how our personal shepherd also is our great defender.
