It's Group Therapy Thursday!

Dear Ted and Amy,
For years every summer while our kids were growing up, we went to the same place on the Jersey Shore for a week and always had a blast. They are now living on their own and too busy to take the trip this summer. My husband assumed that if we were to take a trip, the two of us would go there. I recommended someplace else, but he doesn’t want to go, and truthfully I think he’d rather just stay home rather than go anywhere. But here’s my question – I’ve always wanted to take a trip by myself somewhere new to explore and have some alone time. My husband is a bit hurt and feels excluded even though he admits he doesn't want to go anywhere new. He thinks that if we travel, we should take our annual “to the shore” trip and do it together. Am I being selfish or is it okay to want a solo adventure? And how can I convince him that it has nothing to do with not wanting to spend time with him?
