It's Group Therapy Thursday time!

Dear Ted and Amy,
My husband and I have been married for a couple of years and we are having a baby! Of course, the big conversation has been what to name our child. We just found out it’s going to be a girl. We’ve been considering a couple of different names that we both liked and have pretty much settled on one.  His mom stopped over the other day and we told her and the first thing out of her mouth was “I’ve always loved that name, ever since you dated _____ in high school.” Yes, the name that we have both agreed on is the name of a former girlfriend of my husband which he completely forgot to mention.  He insists that it was a long time ago and that is NOT the reason that he likes the name. He thinks that it’s ridiculous that now I don’t want to name our baby that because of a long ago flame of his. I trust him, it’s not like I think he wants to rekindle that relationship. But I’m just not sure I can get past that enough to still use that name, especially since apparently his MOM still remembers.  Am I being too sensitive or should I create my own memories around that name with my husband?
